One interesting aspect of this whole debt circus is that the ceiling needs to be raised to pay for policies that Congress has already voted for and approved. Doesn’t it seem a bit undemocratic to hold the nation’s (and possibly the world’s) economic future hostage in order to force feed us what is essentially a minority’s vision in the House? Even worse is that it couldn’t be more transparent that the Republican party’s obstinance is purely partisan, cynical, political maneuvering. Mitch McConnell said it himself,

” … The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”

How about doing your job instead?
